Darrington, Wa Old Sauk trail #728 Mar 15th
This trailhead is close to Darrington. It is a great early spring little hike through the forest and woods along the river.
The trail is in good shape this spring, nothing too hard to get over and the trail is pretty easy to follow. Only a few patches of snow.
There are a few trees over the track but nothing to worry about. If you are looking for a good hike this week, give it a try. Nice drive through the countryside up there.

Lena Lake trail #810 Olympics National Forest
If you are looking for a fun hike this weekend, give the Lena Lake trail a try.
Drive up to the trailhead from Hamma Hamma. It is usually plowed well.
The trail has some snow on it but it is pretty easy walking. Snowshoes should be brought, you probably will need them. It is brushy and takes a bit of work in some areas of the basin. The lookout above the lake is a nice hike. Still snowy, the lake is mostly frozen over. The trail is wet and there are 2 or 3 trees across the trail.

Hoh River trail #15 Olympics National Forest
The trail has snow in only a couple spots. You can enjoy a nice 4 mile hike up the river. There are a few washouts, one has an easy route around, the others haven't been worked on yet so it is up to you to find away around. It is doable. Probably not a kid hike until they do some work on it. Bring raingear and good wet weather hiking boots. It is the Rain Forest! ;)
