Trail Report: HeyBrook Lookout feb 24 By Fred S.

Heybrook Lookout trail #1070 Index,WA

Sunday Late Morning

Quick hike up to the lookout and back. Total trail time 2 hours 15 minutes.

Only one blowdown. The trail has seen some use the snow was packed down quite well.

Very easy to stay on the trail. About 3 feet of Snow near the lookout but it was pretty easy to walk on and was not very icy.

Trail Report - Mount Si feb 23 by Mike

North Bend Region - good access - can be crowded on weekend afternoons.

Good hike this time of year. Easy parking in the lot. Only a couple of downed trees on the trail. Lots of snow at higher elevations about 5 feet at the top.

A little icy but not too bad. Don't hike in Tennis Shoes and if you have those newfangled Yak Trax, Highly recommended especially on the way back down. Real crampons will be useful in these conditions. Have fun, but be careful out there.
